A Letter from Pastor Dan

It is almost 8 years since we arrived to serve at Messiah Lutheran Church. It has been a most gracious time. We have come to treasure the fellowship and the call to serve Messiah Lutheran and the community in which we live; and through the Church, to reach into that larger world that God still deeply loves.

In recent time it seems that a deep fatigue is setting in and I do not feel I can offer the ministry that Messiah needs. This is in no way a reflection on Messiah where we have felt wonderful support.

Bev and I have talked this over for some time, and now feel it is necessary to offer my resignation as Pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church effective at the end of the month of September 2010.

We hope this decision will provide some time to recharge and sort out where God might call us to serve in the future, or maybe to take up a quieter life of retirement. In the meantime we plan to remain in Prince Albert and hope we can continue to enjoy the fellowship of this community.

May God lead and guide all our lives so that we might serve Him faithfully. May God guide Messiah Lutheran to find a Pastor of His choosing (and maybe a second Pastor as well) to reach out in the ministry of this congregation which is richly blessed and holds such amazing potential in ministry and mission.

Sincerely as partners in ministry and followers of Jesus,

Pastor Dan Haugen

2010 Bike Ride

Jerry Jarvis and the crew.

Jerry Jarvis, Coordinator for the Saskatchewan Correction Charity Riders once again
took to the road. 2010 bike ride was held in Prince Albert with riders from around the province. This year we once again rode for the Victoria hospital foundation and in doing so we together raised $15,700.00. The ride started in Shellbrook and ended in Christopher Lake. Dick Honch and Bev Skothiem were a part of the road crew this year and are looking forward to next years ride. I would like to thank everyone for their support and welcome all who would like to help to come out next and do so in June of 2011.
