YOUTH ACTIVITIES IN NOVEMBER 2016
Nerf War, November 5 at 2pm – for all youth (7th grade and older)
One of the games that the youth loved to play in our CLAY gathering this summer was Nerf War. It’s an activity involving Nerf blasters or other foam-firing toy weapon. The youth will meet up in church on November 5 at 2pm to play this game – there will be Nerf guns there, but if you have one, bring it with you. There will be snacks and drinks there for all. We will have a blast!
Murder Mystery, November 19 at 6pm – for T4T youth (9th grade and older)
T4T youth are invited for supper on November 19 at 6:00 sharp (until around 9:30 or 10:00). At this supper, someone WILL be murdered (but NOT with a Nerf gun) and you will all be required to help solve the murder.
We will need to know who will be there so we can assign each of you with a character. Please reply to Colleen Bowen at [email protected] by Sunday Nov 13. Tell us YES you will be there or NO I am unable to make it. If we don’t hear from you, Colleen will be stalking you so be prepared!
Supper will either be at the church or at Collen’s house. Stay tuned for the location and further instructions. It’s gonna be fun! Hope you can be there!

Youth Led Worship Service this Sunday, April 21st
Come to worship this Sunday as our Messiah youth lead you in a “We Day” inspired worship service with holy communion.
In February, 15 of our Messiah youth travelled to Saskatoon to attend Saskatchewan’s very first We Day. They earned free tickets along with approximately 12,000 other youth by taking part in various local and global and causes. They listened to various speakers talk about many issues and were treated to some great entertainment as well.
The youth have used some of the themes that were important to them from We Day to create a meaningful worship service that they will lead this Sunday. They look forward to seeing you at church and sharing holy communion with you also!
Also, if you have any pennies, bring them as well. The youth will be finishing up their penny drive to help supply families overseas with clean, safe water.
LCBI High School Choir and Messiah Youth team up to present worship service on April 7th
LCBI High School Choir came to Messiah and presented some wonderful music and even a few laughs (click here to see their ‘children’s story’). The Messiah youth pitched in and with prayers and readings to finish off the service. It was a wonderful service with a little bit for everyone!
After the service, the Messiah Youth served a Chilli and Bun lunch to everyone and collected a free will offering to go towards their upcoming trip to Kamloops, B.C. to attend the National Youth Gathering there. Awesome job everyone…we are well on our way to Kamloops next year!
On February 27th we left Prince Albert..before 7:00am…to attend Saskatchewan’s first We Day. We were there in lots of time to get front seats in our section. It was a great day. We were inspired and entertained. We will be doing a youth service in April that will let you know more about what learned at We Day!!
Parent’s Night Out Was So Much Fun!!
We all had a blast at Parent’s Night out. We were busy playing all sorts of games, eating delicious food and lots of cookies of course and enjoying our time together with the younger members of our church!
Parent’s Night Out!!!

Our group has been designated 20 We Day tickets! Congrats T4T, can’t wait to attend on Wednesday, February 27th!!! (note change: NOT the 26th!)
T4T Meeting this Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 after Church (approx. 12:30pm)
There will be a brief meeting for parents and teens this Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 after church, approximately 12:30pm. There are a few exciting opportunities coming up that I need to tell you about and get an indication of interest from families.
The first opportunity is YC 2013 in Edmonton Alberta Feb. 24-26. This is a gigantic Christian Youth Convention with thousands and thousands of youth in attendance. LCBI (Lutheran high school in Outlook, SK.) takes most of their student body there each year and we could travel and stay with them if youth from Messiah are interested in going. Click here for Pictures!
The second opportunity is CLAY 2014. This is our Lutheran/Anglican National youth gathering. It will be in Kamloops, B.C. next August 2014. We have already begun fundraising for this event and are in a good financial place especially considering we still have another year and a half left! We will likely be getting together with a couple of other youth groups and travelling out by bus together. This event is for all youth aged 14-18 in 2014.
See you on Sunday…if you can’t make it, let me know of your interest ASAP!!
Well, our first act of kindness was perhaps a little bit FREEZING COLD!! But we got the sidewalks cleared out from all the recent snow and the members of Messiah Lutheran are thankful to the youth for that! To be continued, in January!
Let’s do some Random Acts of Kindness!!
Youth, keep checking our Facebook T4T page and texts as we organize some random acts of kindness during this holiday season. If you are in grade 9 or older and want to be included also, contact Belinda Bratvold at [email protected]!
Have a great Advent Season!!!!!!
All the teams did very well, from a Piñata to a microwave and a working television. It was hard to decide which item was actually the Biggest and the Best!! We had decided that if we received any items of value that we would donate these items to families in need. That helped make the decision that the Biggest and Best item was the brand new looking bike! I think one family will be very happy to receive this bike. We will also be donating the other items. Thank you everyone for a great night!
On Saturday evening, November 24th, we will meet at the church at 6:30pm to play a game of ‘Bigger and Better’. We will divide up into teams and go out into the community to see which team can trade the item I give them for the Biggest and Best item they can! You will have a time limit, after which we’ll all meet back at the church. We will then decide which team got the biggest and best item, decide what to do with our items (perhaps donate to charity?) and have pizza and watch a movie together. Bring $5 to contribute to the pizza and we’ll see you on Nov. 24th!
Each year the church hosts a Remembrance Day Fall Supper and the youth in the church help by serving at the event. This year, some of the youth will also be helping by providing musical entertainment for those waiting to go into supper. Thank you youth for your help in making this a successful event!
